Once upon a time there was a cat who was looking at the human world with her eyes in amazement. Sitting in the warm sun in front of the door of the house where she lives, she looks at the busy life of the human animals. She sees those human animals running by, walking and dragging things. She always had to blink her eyes because of the bright sunlight. She has never been able to understand anything about these human animals, although she has lived among them for years. Her days and nights are strung together with the sounds of human animals, she will never be able to understand those sounds.
She is a special cat; she is a thinking cat. Thinking cats are not common in the cat world. In addition, she is also a friendly cat. She sometimes allows herself to be petted, also by small human animals, which sometimes hurt her, but fortunately that happens very little. As a thinking cat, she considers the world of those human animals. Human animals remain strange creatures to her. Walking on two hind legs, with two oddly loose front legs, which are sometimes used to hit each other’s bodies.
Oh well, those human animals give her food and drink in a container, that is easy to eat though. She has to do her daily needs in a kind of gravel pit. Well, that’s apparently easy for those human animals to clean up.
While she sits in the sun enjoying the warmth, she contemplates her life. Well, nine lives that’s a long period for her to go through. She has arrived in the eighth part of her life. In human animal term: So, she is an oldie. The day is a difficult time for her. Sleep eat, eat sleep. Being petted and cuddled by the human animals, those are of course the most pleasant moments in such a slow long day.
Then the night, yes that’s her time. Yacht! Sneaking around in the silence of dusk. Listen sharply if something is moving or running away somewhere. She can hear very well with her sharp hearing. Action and speed that’s what it comes down to. Despite the fact that her bones have become stiff, she is still quite fast. Her whiskers, the width of her body, indicate exactly whether she can still pass through something. And protect her from colliding with objects at dusk.
Yes, those human animals also use their loose front legs to sit and to control shiny and humming monsters. She sometimes has to jump away from being hit by such a monster. Sometimes they sit in front of strangely shaped dead things, which they then touch with their front legs. On that dead thing, something is going to move. She is always ready to attack, unfortunately she cannot reach it with her claws.
As a thinking cat, she simply has to think about the things around her and about herself. Thinking about the strange behavior of the human animals. What they do and what they cause. The unfriendliness with which they treat and approach the other human animals. Sometimes she sees the heads grinning. Sometimes she sees the eyes in those heads getting wet. She has no idea what those signals mean.
She has discovered, as an older cat, that she is better off thinking about things. She can look at things from different angles. Not getting carried away in a cat-cat dispute, which often ends up shouting at each other. Sometimes her fuss is drowned out by the very busy behavior of the human animals. They are then screaming for a flat dead thing on which something moves. They then use those loose front legs to grab that other human animal. Very strange, but good as a thinking cat that gives you to think.
Sometimes she sits in front of a transparent part of the house and can therefore look outside. She then sees all kinds of human animals passing by. Very strange. She then asks herself: what do they do? Do they go hunting, or do they also let their exteriors be pat and cuddle? We cats are individuals. We are proud of ourselves. We regularly lick our exterior clean. Yes, we are also hygienic cats.
Her life as a cat is not for the cat. Now, in her eighth life, her thoughts are also a bit slower. The environment in which she lives as a cat has changed greatly. The cold time is less cold, the warm time is warmer. When she hunts, she often has to roam for hours to find something.
Ah, now it’s time to take a nap. Her thinking turns into beautiful dreams. It is wonderful to change your mind as a thinking cat and to dream about other things than living together with the human animal.
