Ode to Venus

Image of the sky near Corfu Greece

I see you standing my faithful watchman.

My queen of the night.

Every night I expect you.

You remain loyal to me.

I see you shining in the already pale blue firmament.

You welcome the night when the sun fails.

Lonely and glistening, you look down on me.

I feel the loneliness of the night approaching,

but you enlighten my mind.

If the sun ever disappears, you too will disappear,

my dearest light.

Let the night come, then I can keep dreaming!

Ode to my dearest wife.
