Sitting in the Sun

My small garden is flooded with sunlight. Nature is in the bed of spring. The lovely green and colorful spring. The world is springing up and looking toward the future with renewed hope. Butterflies and bumblebees pass the open flowers and blossoms.

It is a coming and going of birds of all kinds in my birdhouse and birdbath. The sun’s rays caress my spirits. My easel empty in my studio, I let the peace descend upon me.

My glass of tea sparkles in the sunlight, painting unusual patterns on the small table. The wind whispers through the bushes and in my ears. The warmth is unusual for this time of year.

To my ears sounds “I have dreamed,” sung by Frank Sinatra, a song from the musical The King and I. I love sung poetry. The incredible fit between the lyrics and the music. Great!

Surely evening is fast approaching again, it is getting quieter in Amsterdam. Amsterdam compared to New York City is just a country village. The peace and quiet are almost touchable.

While the world continues to drown in unrest, dictatorships and war, my world breathes the beauty of spring.

Shall I start cooking? Have a snack at my favorite café? Or just sit in front of the TV with a bag of chips?

Hm, eating healthy is a thing for me. So, it’s going to be cooking.
