The square

After some wanderings I had to give my tired and burning feet some rest. Ha, a lovely large square surrounded by all kinds of terraces. I looked for a terrace and sat down. A friendly woman smiling broadly received me and asked what I wanted to drink. I ordered my drink.

Leaning back and enjoying my drink, I watched the passing people. Big, small, fat, thin, ugly, beautiful and funny! People in their different phases of their lives. With their hidden desires, dreams and wishes. As those people walked by and talked to each other, it was a cacophony of languages to my ear.

Seen from the terrace, life is fantastic. The square was full of life. What I noticed is that many people moved around on small electric scooters.

The technological interweaving with today’s society is beginning to become increasingly clear. On one side there is the dependency, on the other hand there is the ever-increasing pollution and burden on our ecosystem. The people who pass my terrace do not seem to be bothered by it.

Technology and society are showing an increasing interaction. The ever-evolving technology and the ease it gives us in our daily lives can no longer be stopped.

Suppose artificial intelligence and robotics have developed so far and will have influenced our lives so much, what would the square look like? I can’t imagine it. The…
